Adapt IT Manufacturing ISO 9001:2015 Certification will ultimately benefit Customers
Adapt IT Manufacturing is proud to announce that we have achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. The ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certification is internationally recognised and demonstrates a commitment by an organisation to improving overall quality and reliably meeting stakeholder requirements.
According to Debbie Raine, Divisional Executive for Adapt IT Manufacturing, “Customers can be assured of better consistency in our products and services, and also benefit from a process of continuous improvement and innovation. This ongoing improvement will over time lead to new, improved products and services, resulting in additional cost savings and even higher efficiencies”.
The certification marks the end of a project that took 11 months and involved everyone in the Manufacturing Division. “We received our certification approval in June 2021″, says Surendri Chetty, Service Excellence Manager. “This required us to analyse all processes across the 22 workstream areas of our business for possible process improvements. Each workstream conducted an in-depth review of existing policies and procedures and held numerous consultations, awareness and training sessions to ensure everyone was entirely on board. After the initial implementation, we allowed three months for the change to become embedded, before the external auditor’s review”, continues Chetty.
“Within Adapt IT ISO 9001:2015 has been pursued on a Divisional level. This was a first for Manufacturing, and we benefited by collaborating extensively with our colleagues in Adapt IT Education, who had already been certified for some years,” said Michelle Lambert, Senior Manager Strategic Support and Governance.
“Certification will be re-assessed for compliance every year”, continues Lambert, who directed the project. “Every three years, we will undergo a complete recertification audit. The process has helped break down many of the perceived walls and silos across our teams. Each team had previously been serving different product lines and industry segments, sometimes quite independently”, continues Michelle. “ISO 9001:2015 has helped us integrate and standardise our work across the Division and recognise the key holders of knowledge in the business. From now on, it will be easier for new employees to become productive. Our renewed commitment to continuous improvement has also spurred on improvements and better recognition for those involved. The updated quality management system has also given us an improved platform to share our business goals and measure progress”, concludes Michelle.
“We are very pleased with this outcome which represents a significant achievement by each individual across all our teams,” adds Scott Bredin, Divisional Executive. “Our customers stand to benefit in many tangible ways. The ISO 9001:2015 project has helped streamline our many complex internal processes allowing us to achieve higher levels of efficiency. Over time we are finding that more customers require independent verification of their suppliers’ quality management system in order to do business. ISO 9001:2015 perfectly meets the requirement and it also allows us to standardise and enhance our products and services across the many specialised industry verticals such as agri processing, mining, oil & gas, process manufacturing and power generation “, concludes Bredin.
